My name is Sharon Dye and I live in a regional city in the South East's Scenic Rim, west of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. I am a practicing restorer and conservator of works on paper and photographs.
Growing up in the Australian Bush, and, in the past years having illustrated environmental books for children, my interests have extended to the illustration of natural history and the visual potential surrounding it.
The following pages are examples of my work in various fields. Restoration, however, has been a constant, the pages are a work in progress and continue to be updated.
I can be contacted at the email address below.
The Antipodean Series is inspired by the principals of 'Collections' and the early 19th century, the illustrated display of plant and insect species as gathered and recorded by naturalists, explorers, botanists, and artists. They are interesting historically as a record of 'Place', and their visual potential as decorative objects of art.
This site is a work in progress, developing as work is collated.
